Deputy Director of the Secondary Department – Permanent position
Horiana is a consulting company dedicated to epidemiology and biostatistics, designing and conducting healthcare Real World Studies. Horiana aims to support its clients (mostly private companies) in the healthcare field at every stage of their projects.
Horiana is currently expanding its team with a full-time permanent position for a deputy director for the Secondary Department (M/F). The position is based in in France (Bordeaux or remotely).
Your main mission will be to assist the head of the Secondary Department in all of her duties. In full autonomy, you will be accountable for epidemiological studies in various therapeutic areas on secondary databases (claims databases, hospital data warehouses, registries…). You will also participate in management and strategic development in coordination with the Head of the department and the executive committee.
Profile
- PharmD/MD or PhD in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology or biostatistics and at least 10 years of relevant experience in real-world studies (including pharma/med device, CRO)
- Managerial skills and experience, including remote management
- Strong knowledge of French secondary data (SNDS, PMSI….) and in international databases
- Ability to understand the needs of clients and to build relevant proposals
- Proficiency in English
Missions
- Assisting the Director of department in her different missions:
- Manage a team of 15+ people (biostatisticians, epidemiologists and project managers)
- Lead the activity of the department
- Coordinate response to RFP
- Ensure scientific quality of team work and deliverables
- Reviewing and validation of study documents (protocol, synopsis, study report, etc.)
- Providing expertise in epidemiology for the team: identifying relevant data sources and designs, participating in expert committees, providing insights that contribute to interpretation and deeper understanding of the study’s findings.
